Portuguese singer Teresa Salgueiro will be on stage for the first time in Ankara.
Teresa Salgueiro is a Portuguese singer. She is best known as the lead singer of Madredeus from 1987 until 2007. She also participated as lead actress in feature film by Wim Wenders, entitled "Lisbon Story".
Teresa Salgueiro releases the album "Obrigado" (2006) — a collaboration with various artists such as José Carreras, Caetano Veloso, Angelo Branduardi amongst others in parallel with the group’s activity. In 2007 she records two albums in partnership with the Septet João Cristal (Você e Eu) and the Lusitânia Ensemble (La Serena) that explores diverse musical universes demonstrating her versatility as an interpreter. She maintained, with these two projects and for two years, a regular program of concerts in Europe, Brazil and Mexico.
This journey of 25 years of uninterrupted dedication to music now culminates in the creation of original pieces that were born from the encounter of Teresa with the Musicians she has chosen. And for the first time ever, besides composing the songs, she took upon herself the task of writing all the lyrics.
Over nine months, from November 2010 to July 2011, Teresa developed the concepts and ideas crystallized into musical forms and invited António Pinheiro da Silva, with whom he shared the first ten years of recordings and concerts of her career, to co-produce this new album.
Throughout August 2011, she retires to the Convent of Arrábida with her Musicians and, in the surroundings of the mountain, set up a recording studio where they record the seventeen tracks that give birth to the album "O Mistério".
